Same as Samijo. I first liked watching Sylvia on Montel, then one day i decided to buy her book "God, Creation and Tools for life" at a bookstore, it looked intresting to me. That booked pretty much explained alot to me and I was blown away about how much it all made sense to me, it was very deep.

Yes, I think Sylvia is a catalyst for most of us learning about Gnosticism. I love to read Sylvia's books as they make so much sense to me, but when I read about Gnosticism, I had to know more and I began looking into other books about Gnosticism, webs sites and such like that, devoring any information I could find.

I've always had a fascination in spirits and ghosts, simply because it is a personal validation of existence after the body dies. And since no one could ever prove which Religion was right, ghosts and spirits were a different validation, that was non-demonational. During the period in my life when I came out to my family, I was confronted with religious beliefs and scripture, which left me depressed. Which made me turn to learning about ghosts and spirits as much as possible, for my own personal confirmation of the soul. This led me to finding a copy of Sylvia Browne's Visits From The Afterlife.
I began reading the book out of interest in ghosts, and finished reading it with a newfound interest into the spirituality that she had mentioned in her book. Which led me to absorbing and reading everything I could get my hands on by Sylvia. Which has started me on this great journey of discovery and learning as much as I can about my relationship with God and His/Her children.
By the way, after learning about Gnosticism, I was able to face my family's religious ridicule with a stronger sense of pride, and I was able to successfully go off of the antidepressants that my doctor had perscribed for me. Thank Father and Mother God!! With a big shout-out to Sylvia!

How did I discover Gnosticism?
Well,
Having grown up Catholic I was raised with devotion to Mary. But I always was reading things not related to that like The Seth Material and things as teen ager.. my mom would ask me what I was doing I would tell her "gaining Knowledge"
I knew that the "Court of Heaven" was the place to go to get things done so I always addressed " Mary" and She always got it done. I knew and always said " The Queen of Heaven packed a powerful punch based on the energy I felt from Her and knew She was like God. But I really found out what I was doing and who I was after I started reading Adventures of a Psychic back in 2000. I knew then the Azna was who I had addressed all my life and that She is Goddess!

I began my religious search about 20 years ago. I could not find a religion that "fit" me. I pretty much gave up trying to find a religion. I just believed what I wanted and left it at that. When I started reading Sylvia's books and had my a-ha moment when I understood that I was a Gnostic.

I discovered it through Sylvia's books. Never had heard the word before. And really didn't even think I fit into the category until this past year maybe. I don't have a deep desire to keep searching and searching. I found something that works for me and that is good enough. So, I don't know, maybe I'm not one after all. : oh hell I hate labels anyways LOL
Until a few years ago, I had never paid any attention to Sylvia dispite my lifelong interest in the paranormal. One day, while in the library deciding where to go next, I got a 'nudge' to finally check out that Sylvia Browne person. ( I had seen commercials for Montel w/Sylvia but never watched) Then of course I read every book in the library, which was most of them. The Other Side and Back or Life on the Other Side was the first one- i'm sorry I can't remember which. and it was a big moment! I had often joked in the past about reincarnation, but never felt I could actually say I believed in it, because being Christian-that was a no no. So many things, like the knowledge of Spirit Guides and that our loved ones on TOS are right here with us, that I am not ''evil' if I have insight or precognative abilities. well the list goes on. i think y'all know what i mean.

Jenn, I think you are the ONE. I think we all have the opporutnity. I did the same as you, looking, looking, not sure, trying this religion and looking into that one, and when I found Gnosticism, that was it. There was no more looking, no more desire to look, no more feeling like I didn't belong and that there should be something else. I knew I found the truth and found home.
I always did believe in reincarnation despite church, becuase my goodness they preached at me every Easter that Jesus rose from the grave (which I don't believe now is what happened at all), but based on their own preaching, there was evidence of reincarnation to me. I just couldn't ever figure out how no one else go the clue.
Hugs, and thank you so much for the help on this topic and getting the sticky up on top. You are a blessing for sure.
